KEVIN CONROY CAST AS BRUCE WAYNE FOR CW "CRISIS" EVENT

Harchi Matchie, Folks! this is big news! Finally Kevin Conroy, the voice of Batman for over 27 years, is playing the Dark Knight live on screen ( sort of). CW’s “Arrowverse” is having heir major crossover event this fall and it has seemingly cast everyone that has ever played a superhero to make an appearance. So far we know of Burt Ward cast as Robin, Linda Carter is scheduled to return as Wonder Woman, Brandon Routh as (Kindom Come) Superman, and now this huge news. Cast as Bruce Wayne from the future, it looks pretty obvious to me he will be playing the Baytman Beyong version of the character.

This is also kind of big news to me. Two weeks ago at at San Diego Comic Con 2019, during the Batman Beyond 20 year anniversary press room I had a chance to speak with Kevin, here is what he told me about playing the future version of Bruce Wayne:

“Well, yeah. I mean It’s the same man...In B:TAS Bruce Wayne has the luxury of youth. He hasn’t tasted mortality, really. In Batman Beyond He has. He senses the passage of time. Which is why he reaches out to Terry McGinnis. And that is a very sobering thing. He is still a powerful man, but he’s frustrated by the fact that his body won’t do everything he demands it to do anymore. And that makes him cranky, and angry. He’s angry at his body. But he is still powerful, he’s still got that passion of Bruce Wayne, of Batman. ...what was fun about playing him in that stage. He’s not a dottery 80 year old. He’s a feisty, passionate hero. They are different stages of the same man’s life.”

The Arrowverse Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover just got even more interesting with the addition of a surprising cast member. Kevin Conroy – best known for playing Bruce Wayne and Batman in Batman: The Animated Series and Batman Beyond – will be playing Batman from the future.

To be very clear here, it is stated as he “will make a special guest appearance as “Bruce Wayne from the future.” There is no confirmation if this is voice-over only or if he will appear on the screen. We’ll have to wait to hear more details on that aspect.

In addition to Conroy, unknown cast members from Black Lightning will be joining the crossover. This will mark the first time the series has crossed over with the various Arrowverse series.
