REMEMBERING ADAM WEST
This has been a tough year for Bat-fans, such as myself. Hollywood icon Adam West left us to answer the Big Bat-Signal in the sky July 9th, 2017, and my world was turned upside down. Since that day, one of my journalistic goals was to ask everyone I met how they felt about Adam. Do you have any thoughts or memories, did he influence you at all? One of the Goals of this web site is to honor Mr. West, and share those thoughts.
Lee Meriwether spoke at one of the first tributes to my hero - the Adam West Celebration panel at SDCC 2017, and and I was there to cover the event thru tear filled eyes for Bleeding Cool. Meriwether was as beautiful as ever, glowing as she spoke of the first time she met her former BATMAN co-star.
"The first time I saw Adam, was when I was- I had been cast as Catwoman, ( Batman: the Movie) and I thought 'This is a heavenly job, and here he is, it's Adam West.' And I had, oh, a little crush. Just a crush, just a little one." the 82-year-old actress said, blushing.
Lee went on to say that she loved the show, had followed all the episodes, and felt like the role was a gift. She went on to remember, "The first time we worked together, we danced together."
Ms Meriwether remembers, "All I could think of was, 'I'm dancing with Adam West,'" she said. "I probably blew one take and then I snapped out of it." it was just so nice to be around him. He was king, generous, and funny. Always funny., and just a shear delight."
After the panel I met with Ms Meriwether, and she told me " I will always love him, he was a dear man."
Stay tuned to this Bat- Channel Citizens! I have tons more Celebrities sharing thier thoughts and memories on the late, Great Adam West. Did you meet him? share your stories in the comments, I'd love to hear them!
