THE DARK CRYSTAL HEADS BACK TO THEATERS
Muppet enthusiasts rejoiced this week as Fathom Events, The Jim Henson Company and Universal Pictures annouced the big screen return of 1982's spellbinding, visionary world of THE DARK CRYSTAL will be back on the big screen this February 24 and 27.
Back in the early 80's The Dark Crystal made quite a name for itself in a land before CGI. Featuring "in camera" or "practical effects" this visionary fantasy was billed as the first live-action film without any human beings on screen, and a showcase for cutting-edge animatronics. The plot revolves around Jen, an elf-like 'Gelfling' on a quest to restore balance to his alien world by returning a lost shard to a powerful but broken gem, but when fate brings Kira and Jen together, she joins him on his quest to take the True Shard to the Castle before the Great Conjunction, but will they be in time to stop it? Should they stop it?
