ZOE KRAVITZ PURR-FECTLY CAST AS CATWOMAN IN "THE BATMAN"

Warner Bros.’  The Batman has found its Catwoman. Zoe Kravitz (Little BIg Lies, The Batman Lego Movie) has reportedly snatched up the role of one of Gotham’s biggest baddies. Director Matt Reeves recently made the decision after reading with the titular star, Robert Pattinson (Twilight, High Life). Also in the mix, testing with Pattinson over the weekend was Ana de Armas, Ella Balinska, Eiza Gonzalez, with Kravitz clawing her way to the part. Zoe joins Jeffery Wright, cast as JIm Gordon, and Jonah Hill, whose role is yet to be announced, in Director Matt Reeves new direction for the Caped Crusader.

Kravitz now joins the “Cadre of Catwomen” who have played the live action “Feline Fatale” on screen. Catwoman first slinked on to the screen in the Batman series from the mid 1960’s played by Julie Newmar, and then by Lee Merrwether and Eartha Kitt. Batman Returns brought us a leather clad- whip toting Michelle Phiffer in 1992, followed by Halle Berry in 2004’s Catwoman (which should have stayed in the litter box from whence it came) and Anne Hathaway’s turn in 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises. Not a dog in the bunch, pun intended. Selina Kyle/ Catwoman has always been a a temptation to Batman, I can’t wait to see how Kravitz fills out the role.

The Batman stars Robert Pattenson, Zoe Kravitz, Jonah Hill, and Jeffery Wright and is scheduled to open June 25, 2021
