SPOILERY NEWS FROM "THE BOYS" SEASON 2

Here is the really big news of the day.

You didn’t think he was done with the Super Hero game did ya? Former Billy Drake/Iceman Shawn Ashmore (The Following, The Rookie) is cast as Lamplighter in season 2 of The Boys. Lamplighter is a former member of the 7 and, after being replaced by Starlight, is a man with secrets to tell. He is directly responsible for the break up of the original “Boys” and he killed Mallory’s grandkids. Fans of the original comic will recognize Lamplighter as a Green Lantern knockoff, it will be interesting to see if this hero will be the sane when introduced in the 6th episode of the 2nd season.

Check out the sneak peek and slightly spoilery pictures from the even more intense, more insane Season 2. The Boys are on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. Now wanted and in hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) lost in the wind. No worries mate, he’ll turn up. Looks like M.M. is practicing some of the field medic knowledge that he bragged about in the first season.

Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. This is a cool call back to season one., the reason Starlight and Homlander have to make nice? Former member of the 7 Translucent’s funeral.

Homelander’s power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia. Originally writtwen as the first supe and a Nazi in the comics, she doesn’t appear to share those traits, let’s hope she does not share the same fate.

The Supes of The Seven also include Queen Maeve (Dominique McElligott), A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), The Deep (Chace Crawford) and Black Noir (Nathan Mitchell). Recurring stars in season two include Claudia Doumit, Goran Visnijc, Malcolm Barrett, Colby Minifie, Shantel VanSanten, Cameron Crovetti, PJ Byrne, Laila Robbins and Giancarlo Esposito returning as Vought boss Stan Edgar, among others.

The second season of THE BOYS will premiere with the first three episodes on Friday, September 4, and new episodes available each Friday following, culminating in an epic season finale on October 9.
