"GEE, I HOPE SOMEBODY SHOWS UP TONIGHT!"

It is 4 days later and the staff at Retro, Cool, Nerd is still basking in the after glow of the HOLY HOLLYWOOD HISTORY BATMAN 66 VIP opening at the Hollywood Museum on 1/10/18. The memories have have been seared into my head like a Batfleck Bat-brand, and hopefully will never fade. But, thanks to modern technology known as Youtube they never will. Submitted for your approval, some of the video I managed to capture from the night that I was magically transported back to the 60's. Here are some of the best shots from the event.

First off, after a long night of pressing palms and mingling with the citizens of Gotham, Burt Ward, whose original screen worn Robin costume is on display, takes a minute on his way out to thank everyone for attending this one of a kind assembly of Batman memorabilia.

But first, earlier in the evening, this gala Red Carpet event started with the Barris #2 showcar almost running over my foot!

Next, I get up close and personal with the original screen used Batman and Robin costumes on display in the Batcave section of the exhibition.

Now, a quick pan around the Wayne Mansion study. It was so crowded at the Gala, that I had to come back to get these shots of this diorama.

Still standing? This incredible exhibition goes on for what seems like 14 miles. Here is a pan of the Batcave and Villains Lair sections of the HOLY HOLLYWOOD HISTORY BATMAN  66 exhibit. I will be the first to admit that this video really doesn't do justice to each individual piece. An update with close up pics to follow soon. To see these incredible pieces, all in one place, is truly a "POW" to my jaw that left it hanging open all night long.

Up next is the middle case containing mostly props. Oceanic Repellent Bat Spray, Walkie Talkies, Batzooka,  Bat Copter blades, a "Batty", and  Robin's belt. Notice, if you will, the size of the Batarang holster. how did Batman get around with that on his hip?

2 counter top display cases hold a ton of goodies. Signed scripts, and call sheets from the production, a cast signed Cowl, Captain Action figures, an Adam West album, and something I used to have way back when, Batman Color-forms!

This is the Toys and Collectibles display from the exhibit. Era specific toys, memorabilia, Children's costumes, trading cards, signed posters, and the Holy Grail for a lot of Bat- collectors- the Batman Utility Belt. Wow, what I wouldn't have given-or would still give- to have one of these. I could almost touch it, but isn't that the allure of museums?

Finally, Special Curator Wally Wingert says a few words after the Ascot presentation ceremony, a little something special for all the people involved in putting together this incredibly comprehensive exhibition. I had the video running, trying to capture any audio, and I managed to captuure Wally, bringing in the flight for a landing.

Stay tuned Citizens, more pics of the HOLY HOLLYWOOD HISTORY BATMAN 66 display to come . The exhibition is on display at the Hollywood Museum, at 1660 N. Highland Ave (at Hollywood Blvd) Hollywood, California 90028, until April. More ticket info can be found here (LINK). Make some time to check it out if at all possible.
